Fly to Abu Simbel to visit the two temples of Ramses II. The village known as Abu Simbel in Aswan has two massive rock temples of Ramses II. Explore the large temple of Ramses II dedicated to Ra-Horakhty. The smaller temple, built for his wife Nefertari, was dedicated to Hathor. During Aswan day tours, enjoy the visit with your Egyptologist guide, who will explain the history and relocation of the temples. The temple is famous for its massive rock-cut statues and was relocated in the 1960s to save it from Lake Nasser’s rising waters.

The Valley of the Kings, the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon are all located on the West Bank of Luxor. Start with the Valley of the Kings; your guide will explain the most important stories of the site and recommend the best tombs to visit. Next, explore the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Your guide will explain the history of the temple before giving you free time to explore it yourself and take pictures of its highlights. Finally, stop at the Colossi of Memnon.

In the afternoon, visit Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple on the East Bank.

The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, located at Deir el-Bahari on Luxor’s west bank, is a masterpiece of ancient Egyptian architecture. Built into the cliffs, it honors one of Egypt’s most powerful female pharaohs and is dedicated to the god Amun-Ra.

The Colossi of Memnon

The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, located on the west bank of Luxor. They once guarded the entrance to his mortuary temple and are famous for their impressive size and grandeur.

Luxor Temple

The Luxor Temple, located on the east bank of the Nile, was built to honor the rejuvenation of kingship and the god Amun-Ra. It is beautifully illuminated at night and connected to Karnak Temple by the Avenue of Sphinxes, symbolizing the glory of ancient Thebes.

Fly back to Cairo and explore the Citadel of Salah el-Din and the Mosque of Mohamed Ali. After this visit, go on an interesting tour to Khan El Khalili, the largest and oldest market in Cairo. Feel the welcoming warmth of the locals while sitting with your guide and having a drink at Cairo’s oldest coffee shop: EL FISHAWY (1710). Although the market used to be the best place for shopping and buying authentic Egyptian souvenirs, nowadays it is hard to find them, but your guide will advise you on what to do there. Ask your guide about bargaining methods in the market for an interesting experience.
