Visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx is at the top of the bucket list for millions of people worldwide. We will bring your dream to reality. Your private Egyptologist guide will be happy to answer all your questions and explain all the history and mysteries of the pyramids. Listen to your guide talking about the Egyptian Pharaohs, gods, goddesses, and Egyptian mythology. Learn about the process of mummification. You will have full time to enjoy extra activities such as entering the chambers, visiting the Sun Boat Museum, or riding a camel (all upon your request for an additional cost).

Follow your guide’s steps to discover the best spots for unique photos, then visit the Sphinx and the Valley Temple where you will learn the story of this massive statue and mummification. Beyond your expectations, the great experience continues to Saqqara. At this famous archaeological site, you will explore the complex of the oldest of all pyramids. The Step Pyramid, which is 4,800 years old, is the first stone structure in Ancient Egypt. You will learn how the great architect Imhotep changed the royal tomb design. Your guide will accompany you inside one of the tombs dedicated to the nobles. You will see wall paintings and reliefs reflecting the life of Egyptians thousands of years ago. Amazingly, the ink and colors are still on the walls. Next, entry to the Pyramid of Teti is one of the highlights of the tour, as hieroglyphic texts cover the chamber walls, dating back to 2340 B.C.

Later, drive to Memphis. The city was the first and oldest capital of Egypt after the unification of Upper and Lower Kingdoms. Enjoy exploring the ruins in the open-air museum where the second largest Sphinx is on display. Stare in awe at the Colossus of Ramses II, which shows how the art of sculpture had reached perfection around 1200 B.C.

Fly to Aswan and upon arriving, your first stop will be at the Temple of Philae. Philae Temple is a picturesque landmark in Aswan. The temple dedicated to the goddess Isis is reached by a short motorboat ride. Then continue with your guide to the High Dam. After the Aswan day tours, check in to your Nile cruise.

Philae Temple

Philae Temple is located in Aswan on an island in the Nile River and is one of Egypt’s most beautiful ancient temples. It was dedicated to the goddess Isis and was completely relocated to Agilkia Island after the construction of the High Dam to save it from flooding.
 

Day 3: Activity - 3
High Dam

The High Dam is located in Aswan, southern Egypt, and is considered one of the most important engineering achievements of the 20th century.
It was constructed between 1960 and 1970 to control the flooding of the Nile River, store water, and generate hydroelectric power.
The dam protects Egypt from floods and droughts and created Lake Nasser, one of the largest artificial lakes in the world.

Later, visit the Temple of Kom Ombo. The Greeks dedicated the temple to both Horus (the falcon) and Sobek (the crocodile) in Kom Ombo.

Abu Simbel

The Abu Simbel Temple is one of the greatest ancient Egyptian monuments, built by King Ramses II in the 13th century BC to honor himself and his wife, Queen Nefertari. The temple is famous for its massive rock-cut statues and was relocated in the 1960s to save it from Lake Nasser’s rising waters.

Kom Ombo Temple

The Temple of Kom Ombo is unique for its double design, dedicated to two gods—Horus the falcon and Sobek the crocodile. It overlooks the Nile and showcases beautiful reliefs depicting medicine, surgery, and daily life in ancient Egypt.

Cross the Nile to the West Bank in Luxor and visit The Valley of the Kings, the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. Start with the Valley of the Kings; your guide will explain the most important stories of the place along with recommendations for the best tombs to visit. Next, explore the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut during Luxor day tours. Your guide will explain the history of the temple before giving you free time to explore it yourself and take some pictures of the highlights. Finally, stop at the Colossi of Memnon.

The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, located at Deir el-Bahari on Luxor’s west bank, is a masterpiece of ancient Egyptian architecture. Built into the cliffs, it honors one of Egypt’s most powerful female pharaohs and is dedicated to the god Amun-Ra.

The Colossi of Memnon

The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, located on the west bank of Luxor. They once guarded the entrance to his mortuary temple and are famous for their impressive size and grandeur.

Luxor Temple

The Luxor Temple, located on the east bank of the Nile, was built to honor the rejuvenation of kingship and the god Amun-Ra. It is beautifully illuminated at night and connected to Karnak Temple by the Avenue of Sphinxes, symbolizing the glory of ancient Thebes.

day tour with a visit to one of the largest museums in the world. Your Egyptologist guide will explain the masterpieces of the Egyptian Museum. You will be captivated by the most famous and largest art collection in the world. Some artifacts date back five millennia or more and are on display. The treasures found in King Tutankhamun’s tomb are the top attractions among the exhibits. Your private guide will give you the chance to have some private free time to explore more of the museum.

Following this, upon arrival at the Citadel of Saladin, marvel at the alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Listen to your guide as he shares the basic facts of Islam and the function of every part of the mosque. Discover how the entire area was used as a fortress since the Middle Ages and learn the story of the Arabs and Crusaders. The founder of the royal family had the mosque built by a Turkish architect influenced by the style of the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. The mosque is seated on a mountain cliff, and the inner and outer walls are covered with alabaster. It took 18 years to complete the whole mosque complex (1830–1848). Before leaving the area, enjoy a panoramic view of the city with a chance of seeing the Giza Pyramids on clear days.

Finally, visit the largest and oldest market in Cairo. Follow your Egyptologist guide through the narrow alleys and lanes of the market. Feel the warmth and hospitality of the locals while sitting with your guide and having a drink at the oldest coffee shop in Cairo (1710). Although the market used to be the best place to shop and buy authentic Egyptian souvenirs, nowadays they are hard to find, but your guide will advise you on what to do there. Ask your guide about bargaining techniques in the market for an interesting experience.

Egyptian Museum

The Citadel of Salah al-Din (Saladin Citadel)

The Citadel of Salah al-Din (Saladin Citadel) is located on Mokattam Hill in Cairo. It was built in the 12th century by the great leader Salah al-Din to protect the city from Crusader attacks.
The Citadel is one of the most important Islamic landmarks in Cairo, housing several mosques and museums — the most famous being the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, a true symbol of the city.
From the Citadel, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Cairo and its surroundings.

Mosque of Mohamed Ali

The Mosque of Muhammad Ali is located inside the Citadel of Salah al-Din in Cairo and is one of the most famous Islamic landmarks in Egypt and the Arab world.
It was built by Muhammad Ali Pasha in the 19th century in memory of his son Tusun Pasha and stands as a magnificent example of Ottoman-style Islamic architecture.
The mosque is known for its large domes, slender minarets, and beautifully decorated marble interiors. It is one of Cairo’s most recognizable landmarks, visible from many parts of the city.

Khan El Khalili

Khan El Khalili is located in the heart of Islamic Cairo, near Al-Azhar Mosque, and is one of the oldest markets in the Middle East, dating back to the 14th century.
The bazaar is famous for its narrow alleys filled with shops selling antiques, jewelry, perfumes, spices, and traditional handmade crafts.
Khan El Khalili is a popular tourist destination that blends history with the vibrant atmosphere of old Cairo, and it is also known for its traditional cafés such as the historic El-Fishawy Café.
